Kypros Kyprianou

Kypros’ work often examines taxonomies using the wrong end of the telescope. This reverse-culturologist approach uses cultural phenomena to investigate scientific approaches.

During Space for 10, he made a pictorial guide to the Departments of the University of Cambridge.

Recent projects include A Car Boot Sale of The Elements (Allenheads Contemporary Arts), in which he trawled car boot fairs and held his own sale reorganised according to the objects’ chemical components – creating a second-hand periodic table. He made £142.

Current projects include the British Atomic Nuclear Group (Arts Catalyst/Scan), which stems from the attempt to re-commission a de-commissioned nuclear power station’s visitors centre.
