Bettina Furnée

Bettina Furnée (1963) was born in the Netherlands and trained as a lettercutter and art historian. Her work developed through private and public art commissions towards a contemporary art practice, which is rooted in notions of site and uses of language as its primary material. Bettina’s self-initiated project If Ever You’re in the Area took place at two art venues and coastal sites in East Anglia and included Lines of Defence (Bettina Furnée & Tim Sidell 2007). The Space for 10 residency at Kettle’s Yard resulted in a live word association game Powerhouse held at Cambridge University Library in 2008.
